President's Message
 
As your new President for the San Diego ISES Chapter, I would like to say THANK YOU to all our members old and new for your continued support with our organization. We are very excited about our upcoming year as we are proud to bring you a great variety of informative and educational programs that are sure to help us all grow in our personal and professional career paths, along with some fun and exciting networking programs!
We are also offering a personal development series open to both members and non-members which will be a 4-part series, the first entitled "OH! The Places We’ll Go!" We hope you will join us for this great development series, which starts this month. All of the information for all of our upcoming events will be available on our ISES website, http://www.isessandiego.org. Our mission is to continue to support you our members by providing excellent education and networking events to bring us all closer together to support this great industry we are so fortunate to be a part of "Special Events."

September 2011 Program Highlights

The San Diego Chapter of ISES proudly presented its first educational program of the year on September 8th at the beautiful Cosmopolitan Hotel & Restaurant (http://oldtowncosmopolitan.com/) in Old Town. Members and guests alike enjoyed a sampling of brunch specialties designed by Chef Andrew of the Cosmopolitan Restaurant, served in a buffet style. Time was allotted for the nearly 40 attendees to mix and mingle prior to the start of the program. Our Chapter President, Alice Stinnett, began the program by welcoming all members and guests and recognizing all the partners who ensured the success of the event.  
Guest speaker, Ann marie Houghtailing of the Houghtailing Group (http://www.thehoughtailinggroup.com/) dedicated the hour to the topic of finding your direction to professional and personal excellence. Due to the positive feedback following the event, the chapter decided to partner with Ann marie to offer a continuing education series. This series will afford attendees both Professional and Personal Development skills needed to succeed in business. The four part series will take place on October 12, 2011 and January 25, March 14, and May 9, 2012.

The June Bowerman Memorial ISES San Diego Scholarship
 

Please donate and help support the June Bowerman Memorial ISES San Diego Scholarship Fund!  Our Scholarship Award program is designed to provide scholarships to promote education in the Special Events Industry.  The Scholarships are awarded based on merit, member involvement and participation in committees and special programs. 
Our goal is to educate as many members as we can who will in turn help the Chapter develop new ideas and standards, resulting in increased value to the special events industry.  The Scholarship will be awarded in June 2012 at our Annual Installation and Gala, but the support starts now!  Donate on our web site or attend future chapter meetings and participate in the 50/50 Opportunity Drawing.  For the Opportunity Drawing, 50% goes to a winner and 50% goes to the Scholarship Fund.  Thank you for your support!

CSEP: Do You Have What It Takes?
